Adaptive are pleased to announce the launch of our latest development project, Lost & Fond.
Lost & Fond is the brainchild of Elaine Pritchard and is an online platform for animal lovers to post obituaries and tributes to deceased pets. As Elaine explains: "I have started Lost & Fond to provide a warm and welcoming place where we can all remember the pets who have enriched our lives and find friendship and support from the huge community of animal lovers who understand how we feel."
The website enables users to create online tributes to their pets and add images, memories and virtual gifts to the tributes. Other users can also add their contributions to the tributes. There are also sections featuring tributes to famous pets, an online forum community for members to chat with each other, and a collection of help and support articles for anyone who has lost a loved pet.
In addition to providing the ability for users to create and view tributes, Elaine is also keen to support animal charities via donations through the site. Elaine said: "The recession has meant that charities are having a hard time and I know that there are many worthy causes who all deserve support. My hope is that, through this website, we can support the charities who do such wonderful work in helping pets in many ways."
Speaking about her experience of working with Adaptive during the project, Elaine said: "Adaptive were very easy to work with, and it was exciting to see my vision for the site come to life. They listened and understood what I wanted to achieve but also contributed some really useful ideas.
"It felt like a partnership rather than a traditional customer-supplier relationship. I must single out Steve Allen for special praise as his technical project management role made the whole process of getting the site live really smooth."
