If you are trying to stick to a New Year resolution to get out and about in the fresh air more often, you'll be pleased to know that Adaptive is now working with Walk4Life to make it even easier and more fun.
Walk4Life - part of the Department for Health-funded Change4Life programme - has moved its website over to Adaptive and we are now maintaining it and working on new developments to encourage more people to start walking.
You can search for a walk, find an organised walking event or create your own walk through the Ordnance Survey maps on the Walk4Life website. Adaptive has added a 'share' functionality that means when you create a walk on the site you can share it on Facebook with your friends with a single click.
We have also set up an online user survey which Amanda Searle, Director of Communications for Walk England who devised Walk4Life, says will gather important information to help the project continue to enhance and target its services.
New for 2012 is an exciting new free Walk4Life iphone app - and Adaptive has been working closely with the development company and Walk4Life to ensure that all the information is exchanged correctly between the website and the mobile app.
Adaptive developed a stair calculator to encourage a walking group at snack food company General Mills to use the stairs rather than the lift. Employees input how many times they have walked up and down stairs during the day and the calculator converts it into distance which is added to the Group's total miles.
We are excited about more enhancements and developments in the pipeline - so watch this space as Walk4Life continues to make great strides in getting Britain moving.
