Adaptive have this week launched a new "Social in the Workplace" development for an international recruitment company.

NES operate a worldwide recruitment operation, specialising in highly-skilled positions predominantly in the oil, gas and power sectors. Adaptive were approached by NES to build a new platform to replace their existing staff intranet. A key goal of the new development was to more easily bring its worldwide staff together online to communicate and collaborate better across the business.

The new platform, NES Straight Talk, combines all the key features of a traditional intranet with more social tools such as the NES Exchange forum, staff profiles and team-contributed news and updates on key projects and success stories around the group. Other key tools include the staff and office directories and news round-ups from around NES' key business sectors.

Staff are encouraged to share information about projects they are involved with and to post up details of the latest contracts/placements they have secured.

The site has produced an early success story with one member of staff from the US spotting that he and a colleague elsewhere in the US had been speaking to different divisions of the same client with regards to filling various positions for them. The two colleagues were able to combine their efforts in approaching the client and, together, successfully secured additional business for NES.
