Adaptive's 2018 Review
As 2018 draws to a close, we look back on another busy and productive year here at Adaptive. We’ve delivered some fantastic projects over the past 12 months and also been delighted to welcome a host of new Drupal support and development clients on board too. Here are just some of our highlights from 2018.
The year began with us launching a brand new website for Christian media charity, UCB. The site featured a brand new online look for the organisation plus complex integrations with their CRM system, Raiser’s Edge, and also their email marketing system, Adestra.
February saw the launch of a redesigned website for Access Agriculture and we were also pleased to get underway with providing ongoing support and development work for a number of new clients. They included well-known learning disabilities charity, Mencap; software solutions business, Iconics UK and academic organisation, the Institute for Ismaili Studies.
Spring and early summer 2018 saw the completion and launch of a new Drupal 8 website for tourism organisation, Visit Lichfield. We also launched new websites for conservation campaigners, Earthmind and for the J. Krishnamurti website - a huge online collection of teachings from Jiddu Krishnamurti, widely regarded as one of the greatest thinkers and religious teachers of all time.
New Drupal support clients joining us over the spring included wireless communications specialists, Linkwave, and conservation organisation, the International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works.
Spring also saw the Drupal platform’s security processes come into their own with the successful delivery of some critical security updates for Drupal. The Adaptive team were able to apply the security updates in a very quick timeframe as they were released – quite some achievement given that we have 100+ Drupal sites in our care!
Another big talking point of the spring was the introduction of the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Inbetween fending off the deluge of "please resubscribe to our mailing list" emails(!), we were also busy helping a number of our clients to ensure their websites were GDPR-compliant post-25th May. If, as the year comes to an end, you still have any worries about your Drupal website and GDPR, take a look at our previous blog post and get in touch for further advice.
The long, hot summer didn’t quite see football coming home – but, at Adaptive, it did at least see successful conclusions to several Drupal development projects, including a new website for the Mencap Trust Company, an independent Trust service from Mencap.
Following the launch of the new Visit Lichfield site in the spring, we were also able to launch a sister site from the same Drupal installation for the Lichfield BID team. We also successfully delivered another Drupal/CRM integration project, this time for horticultural charity, Garden Organic - integrating their Drupal website with their ThankQ CRM system to provide a new online portal for their members.
We also began working with more new Drupal support and development clients over the summer, including Independent Age, a UK charity delivering practical support, advice and campaigns to help older people to continue to live independent lives in their later years. Also joining our growing list of Drupal support clients was Adder Technology - international providers of KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) and IP services and solutions for IT systems.
During the final few months of 2018, we’ve also been delighted to have started working with cervical cancer charity, Jo’s Trust; national children’s charity, Youth Sport Trust and cyber security experts, Outpost24.
Additionally, we completed a website redesign and UX overhaul for our Drupal support client, IIC, and we were also busy delivering additional projects and website improvements for both Independent Age and Mencap charities. In addition to our existing work for Mencap on their main website, we’re also currently working on digital improvements for the charity’s Gateway Awards scheme and also their online community, Your Network.
New Drupal site launches in the final quarter of the year have included a new Technical Hub platform for one of the world’s largest construction sector companies. The new site enables architects and specifiers to utilise various online tools and calculators to establish which products are best suited to their projects (NDA commitments currently prevent us from sharing further details of the project).
Heading into 2019, we’ve already got a number of exciting new projects that we’re looking forward to delivering. Early in the new year, work will begin on an exciting new Drupal 8 website for Mencap, providing an online platform for one of their big national schemes (more details coming soon). We’re also currently in late talks with a Christian charity about providing Drupal support and hosting for them, as well as some large key developments throughout next year too – so plenty to keep us busy!
It’s been another brilliant, busy and productive year here at Adaptive. This blog post highlights just a small portion of the tremendous work delivered over the past 12 months. Once again, a massive thank you goes out to everyone in our amazing team for their fantastic work throughout the year. Thanks also to our loyal clients, old and new, for their continued support.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and successful 2019, from all of us here at Adaptive!
