The Background

Today, on February 20th, 2025, we are excited to launch our new website. This launch marks a significant step forward in our mission to have a site that not only showcases our capabilities but also serves as a powerful tool for demonstrating our capability.

This site was built entirely using the AX+ approach we have developed - a true no-code solution to improve the Drupal Admin Experience (AX). In the coming weeks and months we will produce Deep Dives showcasing the functionality and benefits.

The Solution

No-code Page Building

The site uses our AX+ approach, enabling page creation without the need for manual input any CSS or HTML.

By strategically defining Component Types, every page is built from flexible, brand-compliant elements, saving time and empowering non-technical users.

Responsive design is powered by Bootstrap 5, with AX tools allowing overrides for an enhanced mobile experience.

Publishing Workflows

As the site would have regular updates from various contributors, publishing workflows for content review and sign-off was a key requirement.

By using Revisions, ECA (for content workflows) and other Modules, all content on the site is owned by different Authors with pre-publishing revision, change highlights and other features to ensure content quality and ownership.

AX Functionality

Features such as Dynamic Image Generation (the header images are dynamically created) and Timeline Builder allows no-code build of re-useable, dynamic features that will need updating - meaning more power to the website admins.

Showcase Adaptive's Capability

This site demonstrates Adaptive's AX+ approach, showcasing its ability to empower Web Editors by streamlining workflows, saving time and money, and enhancing the overall editing experience for both new and existing customers.

Now the site is live, in the following months we will Showcase the functionality and the benefits AX+ brings.

The Approach

Discovery

We worked with a particularly difficult customer - ourselves! However, the power of AX+ meant that we didn't need to go through the process usually associated with a build of this scale. Non-technical staff were able to iterate, test and develop layouts, ideas and concepts on the fly.

Development & Prototyping

AX+ enabled us to prototype on the fly, bypassing the need for expensive design-to-development cycles.

We could build and test pages in real-time, seeing how they performed in context and making adjustments instantly. This agile approach allowed us to iterate rapidly and efficiently.

Many of the core design elements were 'baked in' from the outset but then the site was handed over from the Development team to the Editorial team to build out the pages, layouts and navigation

UX and AX

There's much more to come on the UX aspects of this site and AX is an ever-evolving aspect. This version of the site is relatively basic compared to our vision but serves as testbed and sharing platform to show our customers what we're capable of.

The Future

Whilst building this site, we made further improvements to AX+ and have a long list of extra features that will make it even more powerful.

By applying our learnings to this site, we can share best practise and the true power of Drupal with our customers.

The launch of the new website is just the beginning. We’re committed to keeping it fresh and dynamic by regularly updating and adding new content.
