Requirements Overview

    Responsive Support

Key to the clients requirements was a responsive and proactive Drupal Support Partner. With regular review meetings and robust processes to handle Security Updates.

  Enhanced Security

With security being a crucial aspect in the charity sector, ensuring compliance with ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials was a key requirement. Protection of sensitive user data, safeguarding against cyber threats, and maintaining a resilient infrastructure were all priorities.

  UX Optimisation

Ensuring a high standard of user experience (UX) was a key requirement, with a focus on usability, accessibility, and best-practice design principles.

  Hosting & DevOps

A scalable, performant hosting architecture to support spikes of traffic and also the DevOps infrastructure to support on-going developments with stable deployments.

 Integration Management

Managing integrations with key third party platforms which power vital aspects of the platform such as the healthcare finder which enables healthcare professionals (HCPs) to find details of UK hospitals that diagnose and
treat CTC.

  Continuous Development

Ongoing development to enhance both functionality, User Experience (UX) and Admin Experience (AX) were key to the website delivering value to all stakeholders.

The Approach

Discovery

A series of workshops and scoping sessions were carried out with stakeholders to be certain that all requirements had been captured, knowledge transfer from the previous provider and test plans review.

This Discovery phase allowed us to assess the existing Drupal setup, identify pain points, and map out key priorities. From security protocols to performance expectations, we ensured a clear understanding of their needs - laying the groundwork for a smooth transition and a proactive support strategy.

Audit

A thorough audit was conducted to evaluate the Drupal implementation, assessing core configurations, integrations, and development techniques.

This process ensured adherence to best practices, identified potential security risks, and highlighted areas for optimisation. By reviewing module usage, code quality, and infrastructure setup, we provided a clear roadmap for improvements, ensuring a stable, secure, and high-performing platform.

Test Migration

Test Migration to Pantheon - a seamless transition

To fully leverage Pantheon’s hosting infrastructure, security measures, and performance benefits, we conducted a test migration of the Drupal platform. This process involved adapting the site for the new environment, implementing best practices, and optimising configurations. Rigorous testing was carried out against predefined test plans, ensuring stability, security, and performance. With a carefully structured approach, the migration was executed smoothly, achieving zero downtime and no unexpected issues.
