About Walk4Life

Walk4Life, originally part of the Government's Change4Life campaign, aims to get people more active and healthier by getting out and walking more.

Funded by the Dept of Health until 2012, the site is now funded and managed solely by Walk Unlimited continue to fund the project - a social enterprise working to get more people walking to more places.

Our work with Walk4Life

We began working with Walk Unlimited on the Walk4Life project in 2011 when they decided they needed more ongoing support with the site and felt they needed to move away from their previous agency to achieve this.

We have developed a great working relationship with the team every since and have provided regular support and development for the Walk4Life website, helping it to attract over 37,000 registered users and top more than 100,000 suggested walk routes that have been added to the site.

The website enables you to search for local walk routes, find an organised walking event or create your own walk through the Ordnance Survey mapping tools on the site. You can also find and join online groups of walkers, take part in walking challenges and log and track your walking progress via your own personal profile.

In recent years, we have added a subscription system to the website, enabling users to sign up for a small £5 fee to access some of the features of the website.

We’ve worked with Adaptive since 2011 and have been consistently delighted with the high levels of service and knowledge that the team provide. We always feel 100% that we can put our trust in Adaptive to deliver the support and development work that we need across our websites and enjoy working with such a friendly and professional team of people.
